  • Jet Set Radio HD Remake Grinds On A Solid Release Date

    Graffiti-centric skate-‘em-up Jet Set Radio gets its own remake across various platforms, including iOS and Android, with firm release dates, publisher Sega has announced.

    The XBLA and Steam versions are set for 19th September release for 800 Microsoft points or $9.99 respectively. The PS3 version will be out on PSN on 12th September for PlayStation Plus Subscribers and the 19th for everyone else.

    However, the Vita version won’t be out till 19th October in Europe.

    For those new to the name and game, Jet Set Radio was first announced at the Tokyo Game Show in 1999 for Dreamcast and garnered stupendous amount of press attention due to its use of the then revolutionary rendering technique known as Cel-Shading. Now commonly found in many games, cel-shading allows for a “comic-like” or “cartoon-like” appearance of 3D rendered objects. Jet Set Radio was released in Japan on June 29, 2000.

    A sequel titled Jet Set Radio: Future was released for the XBOX after Sega became a software-based company. The sequel remained faithful to its cel-shaded graphics and gameplay style, it was however improved to take advantage of the XBOX hardware. Will a HD remake of the sequel see the light of day or not remains a mystery so far.

  • Comic-Con 2011: House of the Dead: Over Kill HD Trailer is out

    Fans of Old School blow-up-dead-good House of the Dead were satisfied with the game’s new outing on Wii. But who is to say things cannot be better in HD? Walking down the HD road, SEGA promised an extended cut version for PlayStation 3 not long ago, along with plenty of exclusive goodness to keep the fans interested.

    SEGA has finally removed the veil from a much-awaited HD Over Kill TRAILER. The game will make use of move, and will come packed with extra modes, challenges, and content.

    House of the Dead: Over Kill – Extended Cut will be out exclusively for PS3 on October 25th.

  • SEGA gives House of Dead: Overkill PS3 Details

    The revival of Old School resident Evil has put classic zombie action to rest. But SEGA offers a fresh new take on an old classic for nostalgic factors, and has given new details on its upcoming PS3 Exclusive classic zombie killer, House of the Dead: Overkill.

    The company also released the game’s box art for gamers’ pleasure, which features Varla Gunns in the spotlight.

    Here are the exclusive features the Extended Cut version will offer:

    -PlayStation Move and Sharp Shooter compatible
    -High definition visuals and Stereoscopic 3D support
    -Extra levels
    -Exclusive crossbow weapon
    -A new ‘baby mutant’ type
    -Hardcore mode: Enemies can only be dispatched with headshots
    -Classic mode: Play through Overkill armed only with the AMS Magnum
    -Exclusive missing reel: An extended boss battle with “Mother” in the game’s final stage, Overkill

    -Heaps of collectibles to nab throughout each stage, which in turn unlock bonus material including comic pages, music tracks, 3D models and 2D artwork
