iTunes 10.5 Beta 6.1 With iTunes Match Now Available For Download (Windows And Mac)

Apple has added iTunes 10.5 BETA 6.1 to their US developer channel (to be available in other regions soon) and is now available for download. The only major change in this BETA is the addition of iTunes Match which enables you to upload your audio files to Apple’s iCloud service.

Using iTunes Match you can sync you entire music collection with iCloud for a free of $25 per year. The service will only upload music from your collection which is not already available on iTunes, all music that is available on iTunes will be streamed to your PC, Mac or iOS Device directly from the cloud in it’s original 256kbps AAC glory.

The service could prove to be very handy and help save storage space across your devices. There are a few bugs in the service though like you can’t add music to iCloud from more than one computer at one time and there is minor playback lag when playing the files on your iOS devices. Expected these and other bugs to be fixed in the BETA. Developers were also told to backup their entire iTunes libraries since Apple could delete files from their iCloud accounts at anytime during the BETA.
