According to the latest report by Reuters, Sharp is now producing “adequate volumes” of iPhone 5 displays to help Apple cope with the massive demand for the phone.
Sharp Corp is making “adequate volumes” of displays it is known to supply for Apple Inc’s new iPhone5, a company executive said, indicating that a possible bottleneck in supplies of screens may have eased.
Analysts had blamed a shortfall in supplies of display for leaving Apple with too few iPhones to meet burgeoning demand at its launch this month.
Yasuo Nakane who’s an analyst at Deutsche Securities that the main two iPhone 5 Displays producers LG and Japan Display are capable of producing 8 million units per month while Sharp will produce around 6 million.
Sharp’s increased production comes just in time for today’s launch of the iPhone 5 in 22 additional countries and more carriers in existing markets.
