New Details Show The Transfer Capability Between MGS HD Collection And NGP/PSP
Konami is releasing a HD remastered version of its favorite series Metal Gear Solid and the cult classic Zone of the Enders. The Metal Gear Solid pack will arrive sometime this November.
According to the plethora of new details that have been posted on the official site they will be downloadable on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This could also mean that maybe North America won’t see a retail release and they will be available only through digital download. This was written on the official site:
*METAL GEAR SOLID 2 SONS OF LIBERTY (2001), METAL GEAR SOLID 3 SNAKE EATER (2004) Remastered
*This game is planned to be TRANSFARRING enabled (Data sharing) for the PS3® and a corresponding portable gaming device.
*Digital Download Versions are planned to be distributed via PlayStation®Store, Xbox Live® ARCADE
The most interesting feature here is perhaps the Transferring portion that is available to all the PS3 and PSP/NGP customers. Konami has provided detailed info on what exactly is this transferring feature and this clearly shows that Kojima’s upcoming Fox Engine which is a multiplatform engine for both PC, PS3, Xbox 360 will also support NGP. It will mean that users will be able to play games on their PS3 and when they will go outside they can copy their progress and save data to the NGP or PSP and play their game on the go. PSP will support MGS – Peace Walker while NGP will support Metal Gear Solid 2,3 and Peace Walker. It also shows us that PSP remaster games will be available on the NGP as well. We can also see that future Fox Engine titles will also support the NGP.
