  • How To Install Galaxy S III I9300 XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware

    XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware for the Galaxy S III I9300 has been leaked and were nearing the final release which we expect will be XXDLI11. The release is still in Beta unfortunately so it may have some problems.

    Now on to the tutorial itself, just following the steps below to install XXDLI6 Firmware on your Galaxy S III I9300.

    Note: Make sure to backup all your data beforehand as this tutorial will wipe all your data along with your root.

    You can follow this guide to Root Galaxy S III I9300 Running XXDLI6.

    Step 1. Download the ROM from the link given above.

    Step 2. Download Odin 1.85 from here.

    Step 3. Go into Download mode by pressing Volume Down + Home buttons at the same time, and then press the Power button when the Android icon appears. Press the power again to go into Download mode.

    Step 4. Open Odin which you download from the link above and connect your phone via USB cable.

    Step 5. Press on the:

    – PDA button in Odin and select the CODE file.

    – Phone button and select the MODEM file.

    – CSC button and select the CSC file.

    – PIT button and select the PIT file.

    You’ll find these files in the ROM linked at the start of this tutorial. If there are no files of the type in the folder then ignore them.

    Step 6. Check the Auto Reboot F.Reset Time check boxes. Also make sure to check the Re-Partition option but only if you’ve selected a PIT file in Step 5.

    Step 7. Click the Start button. The procedure should take a couple of minutes at most.

    Step 8. After the installation is done your phone should restart and boot into the home screen. Disconnect the phone from your computer and turn it off again.

    Step 9. Now press Volume Up + Home + Power to navigate into the recovery menu.

    Step 10. Using the volume buttons to navigate select the wipe data/factory reset option.

    Step 11. Now finally select reboot phone.

    Here we go! XXDLI6 OTA firmware got leaked earlier today and we have the lowdown. The firmware may have bugs so install at your own risk.

    Before installing the OTA firmware install the XXBLG8 firmware since the OTA update is a partial update. Follow the guide here but flash the XXBLG8 firmware file instead which can be downloaded from here.

    Download XXDLI6 OTA Firmware from here.

    Step 1. Download XXDLI6 OTA from the link above.

    Step 2. Mount your Galaxy S III to your PC via USB cable.

    Step 3. Transfer the firmware file to your SD card’s root.

    Step 4. Turn off your phone and disconnect your Galaxy S III from your PC after the transfer is complete.

    Step 5. Boot into Recovery Mode by pressing Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at a time.

    Step 6. Navigate to apply update from SD card using the volume buttons. Press power to confirm your selection.

    Step 7. Press the power button again to select a file.

    Step 8. Select the XXDLI6 OTA firmware file which we transferred earlier. Press power to select the file and confirm the selection.

    Step 9. Finally after the installation is complete select the reboot now option.

    Your Galaxy S III will now boot into XXDLI6 OTA firmware. The initial boot will take around 5 minutes so don’t worry.

  • How To Root Galaxy S III XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware

    The XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean got leaked earlier today. After flashing the ROM, your Galaxy S III must have been unrooted. No need to worry as now you can root Galaxy S III I9300 Running XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware by using CF-Root as given in the tutorial below.

    This tutorial will guide you through the entire process of how to root XXDLI6 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S III I9300 (the factory unlocked version). Before starting make sure  to download CF-Root Package which contains with SuperSu v0.93, ClockworkMod recovery v5.5 and CWM manager v3.60. Before starting the root process make sure that you have done with the following:

    • Installed all USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S III
    • Enabled USB debugging mode from the settings menu
    • Charge the battery up to at least 85%
    • Backup all your data

    Now follow the step-by-step instructions:

    Step 1. Download CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip for Galaxy S III from here.

    Step 2. Download ODIN v1.85 from here.

    Step 3. Switch off your phone and go to Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down plus Home buttons, followed by pressing the Power button till you see the Android. Pressing Power button again will enter you in Download Mode.

    Step 4. Open ODIN on your computer and connect your phone while its in Download mode.

    Step 5. Wait for one of the ID:COM boxes to turn yellow with COM port number.

    Step 6. Select the root file that you have to flash on your phone located in the zip file downloaded in step 1.

    Step 7. Click on PDA tab and select CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar.

    Step 8. Enable the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in ODIN and click the start button.

    Step 9. After the flashing is complete, your phone will restart. When you see the home screen, unplug it from computer.

    All done and now your Samsung Galaxy S III has been rooted on Android 4.1.1 XXDLI6 Firmware.
