  • ICO And Shadow Of The Colossus PS2 Vs PS3 Graphical Comparison

IGN has posted this neat video which pits the upcoming HD remake of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus to their PS2 counterparts. You can check this nifty video for yourself. Make sure to watch it in High Definition(HD) resolution for maximum experience.

While ICO still retains the old school PS style look, Shadow of the Colossus definitely looks better and much more smoother game. The resolution boost gives a much more crisper image. The 3D support that is also being implemented will be a nice bonus.

Shadow of the Colossus still has some of our favorite gaming moment of all time, it was the first game which truly made us feel like a hero who has to slay giant monsters of all kind. Armed with just a bow and a simple sword, we had to use various methods and exploit the weakness of these giant monsters(Colossus)in the game in order to slay them.

From the images below, Resident Evil 4 HD still looks fantastic despite being an old game. It hasn’t aged much with respect to current technology. Resident Evil: Code Veronica, on the other hand – looks a little old school. Nothing to worry though, it was still a fantastic game. The main thing that matters is the story and gameplay and both were quite good in Code Veronica. You can also dual wield guns as shown in the gameplay trailer.

  • UK Is Crazy For Fitness, Transformers 3 Video Game Is Not A Bust

This week Zumba Fitness: Join the Party was released for Xbox 360 and Wii. It sold the most copies this week to claim the top spot in the UK sales chart.

Dirt 3 showed a much needed love and support as it jumped 2 places up from 4th place to 2nd place this week. While Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie was creating big explosions throughout the world, its video game was also nothing short of success and managed to sell enough copies to claim the 3rd spot behind Dirt 3.

In the 4th and 5th places, Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean and L.A Noire clanged to their spots. L.A Noire is showing some good legs even though it was released in May. It is still selling extremely well which is good news for its publisher Rockstar. Lego games mostly have good legs so Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean still selling well was no surpirse.

Call of Duty: Black Ops had the most impressive jump today and went 10 places up from 17th to 7th place. What was more surprising was the sales of Brink which was a critical failure. It received a lot of negative review but despite this all it is still in the top ten video games at 8th place.

The rest of the top 10 video games chart is shown below:-

    • Zumba Fitness: Join the Party
    • Dirt 3

  • New Battlefield 3 Details Revealed: Burst Firing, Friendly Fire, Weapons And More

DICE’s Alan Kertz decided to reveal a lot of new information about Battlefield just a few days before the Open Beta which starts on the 27th of September if you pre-ordered Battlefield through Origin or bought the Tier 1 edition of Medal of Honor. The Beta starts for everyone else on the 29th of September and ends on the 10th of October.

    • On the topic of friendly fire: “Friendly Fire misunderstanding: FF is Off by default, On by default in Hardcore. Server option as well. Spread the word.”
    • When asked to confirm there’s no “Dragons Breath” ammo for shotguns: “Yeah. And no bottle rockets. Both have similar effectiveness.”
    • When asked if the SU-39′s cannon will have different balance/stats due to it being powered by gas-blowback (versus electricity for the GAU): “Given it fires 3000rpm and actually has less spin up than the GAU, they are very similar in game and life.”
    • When asked if burst firing would be harder in Battlefield 3: “Tap firing has a larger recoil than the same rounds fired in full auto actually.” He then followed up with: “If you tap fired as fast as full auto the spread would’ve the same. Control recoil and pace your rounds it’s better.”
    • When asked about the M1911 pistol, and who gets access to it: “The M1911 is available to both Gun Club [members] and Veterans, however there are additional Veteran bonuses.”
    • When asked about Medal of Honor Limited Edition owners and the Battlefield 3 beta keys they should be receiving: “You don’t need a key, if your EA account is entitled to MOH LE then you get the beta access automatically early.”
    • When asked about the under-barrel grenade launcher and its one-hit kill shots: “Much smaller splash, minimum arm timer, and only direct.”
    • When asked about DICE’s support for the game once it’s released: “We’ve planned updates and additional content support, plus there is always other projects…”

  • PS3 Beyond The Doors Tease: New IP or Service? – Easter Eggs Listed

Sony is teasing with a new video posted earlier today and we have no idea what it is. It’s starts off with two soldiers dressed in World War II time uniforms escaping from something through the woods, they then go into an Inn of sorts and greet the Innkeeper.

One of them puts something in a plate (pictured above) on the table in front of the Inn Keeper, you might recognize the Little Big Planet Prize Bubble in the plate. They then move on to the weapons hold where the mount up their guns, you can spot familiar weapons like Lightning’s sword and, Killzone’ s WASP weapon along with some weapons from Ratchet and Clank and Resistance. They then enter a room which sounds particularly cloudy. Following is a list of the Easter eggs we caught in the trailer:

    • 0:12 Chimera or Helghast eyes in the trees,
    • 0:19 Resistance sirens,
    • 0:23 Sweet Tooths truck with music,
    • 0:27 MK II from MGS4 and PS logo above woman,
    • 0:30 Parappa the Rapper in picture on the right (possibly other PS1 classics),
    • 0:35 LBP prize bubble,
    • 0:39 Lightning’s sword from FF XIII, a few weapons from Resistance, Ratchet’s ratchet, and Killzone 3′s WASP,
    • 0:51 Some sort of face.

Let us know in the comments below what YOU think Sony’s trying to tease us. Original teaser video below:

  • Sony Acquires Infamous Developers

The console giant has secured a number of power houses under its wing, to make quality exclusives for cut-throat market competition. Following the tradition, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) have announced the acquisition of Sucker Punch, the developers behind the critically acclaimed Infamous games.

SCE WWS head Shuhei Yoshida commented, “Sucker Punch Productions is one of the most highly acclaimed development studios in the industry and we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the company for over 12 years. We are delighted to officially welcome them to the SCE family.”

“The addition of Sucker Punch to SCE WWS reiterates our dedication to developing world class gaming experiences that can only be found on the PlayStation platform. With one of the strongest exclusive software lineups in the PS3′s history, combined with the diverse, innovate content in the works for PlayStation Vita, consumers have a lot to be excited about this year.”

“It’s just been such a productive and enjoyable relationship for us that I think that in all of our discussions the only group we really seriously entertained doing this kind of a transaction with was Sony,” Sucker Punch’s Brian Fleming said, during an interview with CNBC.

“I’d be lying if I said other groups weren’t interested in a group like Sucker Punch,” SCE WWS U.S. boss, Scott Rohde said.

“The bottom line is, when you’ve got a group that’s been as successful as Sucker Punch, we want to ensure that we keep them in the fold. It’s that simple. It’s hard to find high quality developers like these guys.”

Rumour has it that sucker punch has been secretly working on a new IP for PlayStation 3. Stay tuned for more.
